Lancelot ▶ Granblue Fantasy
New Canon Point ▶ Post-Kappa Summer Chronicle

Lancelot spends some time on the beach with his Captain and his friends and it's all fine and dandy with no murderous fish... is what I'd like to say.

Before the events of Kappa Summer Chronicle, we see that the Captain and Vice Captain of the White Dragons take a well deserved break in Auguste. Ever since helping save the world with the Captain during the events of 000, Lancelot and Vane have been hard at work maintaining order not just in Feendrache but with the crew as time permits. This is the first time in a long while that Lancelot allows himself to shed his armour and relax.

While reminiscing about his past with Vane, Lancelot contemplates the passage of time and how much has changed from when they were kids. It's the first time he's allowed himself to think these thoughts, having been so caught up in the here and now that he's not left much time for contemplating.

Lancelot mainly contemplates the meaning of his armour, a gift from the King of Feendrache when he became the Captain of the White Dragons. The armour, while something that symbolises him and is something that he has no problems wearing represents the pressure and weight of being a Knight Captain from a very young age and the responsibilities he has had to bear in his position. However, he's come to the point where without it he doesn't feel vulnerable (compared to Four Knights of a Fallen Land), but rather it allows him to contemplate who he is outside of his work.

He learns that it's important to relax and have fun! And that there's no shame in doing so because what's important is a work life balance. This concept of a work life balance will continue to be an important one through the events of Kappa Summer Chronicle.

Initially it starts with a mythical kappa washing up on the beach of Auguste Isle. Kyuta, the washed up kappa has no experience of the outside world so the crew endeavour to bring him back to his father and to his home. While Lancelot, Vane and Percival still have official business to tend to, they still keep Kyuta in mind as going on official meetings gives them opportunity to access the island's research materials to try and find clues.

The Captain and crew eventually find out that there is a long history between kappa and the revered shrine at Tono Island, a nearby island holding a festival. Before the Astral War, kappa were the only ones allowed to prepare the sushi as a shrine offering. The priest would only press it. The Astral War happened and the kappa were indebted to the humans for keeping them safe from the Astrals, who were keen to experiment on them. Time went on and it turns out that human progress had usurped the kappa from their original home on Auguste. Which led them to Tono Island once again, where they were welcome backed by the former priests of the shrine with open arms. The symbiotic relationship between kappa and priest evolved to making the best sushi in the world, ever. Thus sushi went from sacred offering to delicacy and Miyasato, the resulting restaurant became renowned the world over.

However, the uptick of activity on Tono Island meant that the kappa and the former shrine priest now sushi chef were losing their work-life balance. The kappa worked without any rest to prepare for the absolute deluge of customers who were to come in during the fireworks festival.

But it all comes to a head and calamity strikes! The sushi chef comes down with severe fatigue and in his place the Captain and Kyuta offer to be junior sushi chefs for the night. The lesson learned is that simply sticking to tradition that's unsustainable is no good for anyone, and that one should always have a willingness and open mind to explore new traditions - especially if it keeps your health and sanity together.

Lancelot, along with Vane and Percival help the besieged Miyasato when their fish is torched by the overenthusiastic Friday. Accompanying Sig and Ghandaghoza, they capture the God Albacore - a primal beast so mythical that capturing it, let alone eating is the stuff of myth. They also bring their experience previously helping out with Bistro Feendrache to help Kyuta and the Captain ensure that Miyasato is able to serve every single guest and make sure they walk out with a smile on their face.

With his last two remaining slots in his inventory I'd like to get with this canon update:
- one pair of beach shorts
- one hand sewn Beach Banner which has a beach, an ocean and a white dragon depicted on it
